Copy the downloaded APK to a USB stick → plug into the TV → open it with the TV's file manager. No file manager? Grab any free one from the TV's app store — you won't need it again.
On first install, Android asks you to grant this permission (usually under Settings → Security, varies by brand). It's the standard Android flow — a one-time thing.
Scan with your phone → press "Allow" on the TV → start sending. The USB stick may now retire with honors.
Network — opens a local-network door to receive files.
Notifications — shows transfer progress. Declining changes nothing else.
Install unknown apps — only used when you tap "Install", to launch the system installer. Nothing is ever installed silently.
Permissions it does NOT ask for — contacts, photos, location, or "manage all files".
